Inigral is engineering a more social higher education, and we are looking to add extremely talented Rails engineers to our technical team. Tech smarts and sheer intelligence are a must, with an understanding of the full stack of end to end web development. An ideal candidate also excels at front end web development and will help us build canvas apps in facebook. Our application is live at 90+ universities and we are seeing rapid growth. We’ve got some seriously interesting technical challenges, and you’ll be building features that will be used by hundreds of thousands of students.

The social fit at school has been a much undervalued piece of the puzzle in problems around student retention and yield. Nationally 40% of students who enroll in school do not complete their degree. $8 Billion dollars of federal money is spent sending students to school who never graduate. With the rise of online education, traditional institutions are needing to compete for students like never before. And online programs need better ways to replicate the kind of social community that traditional students experience. 

We are building social software that transforms the way that educational institutions enroll and engage students. Backed by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Founders Fund and Retro Ventures, we are well poised for success in a $10 Billion dollar market ripe for both disruption and better software.

Responsibilities

  • Working within a small, collaborative team, building an innovative product
  • Add new features to to drive user engagement and add value
  • Add new features to our existing system to improve performance and scalability

Requirements

  • Mastery of HTML/CSS and Javascript/jQuery
  • Deep understanging of Ruby on Rails
  • Experience building content rich consumer facing applications
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Initiative and positive energy with a willingness to learn

Bonus Points

  • Experience developing facebook applications
  • Experience developing for the mobile web
  • Amazing front end web development skills
