Senior Ruby Developer

We're looking to expand our team of expert Ruby developers in our Homewood, Alabama office. As a part of our agile team, you will be developing technologies on one of the world's largest financial systems written in Ruby on Rails.

What you will do:

Full-stack development in Ruby (1.8.7 - 1.9.3)
Test-driven web development (primarily in Rails 2.3.3 and 3.X)
Legacy code refactoring
Participate in an agile development methodology
Code reviews and pair programming
Influence software design and architecture

About you:
Are goal oriented and a self-starter who requires minimal supervision
Possess a strong software design mentality with emphasis on OO and MVC
Are able to communicate not only with the technical team but also with business stakeholders
Are not afraid to experiment with new technologies
Have experience creating and consuming web services and APIs (REST, SOAP)
Are comfortable working with Ruby/Rails regardless of the version level
Proficient in relational databases including MySQL
Familiar with test frameworks including RSpec and Cucumber
Could not live without use of your git repository
Can hold your own on the front-end (jQuery, Javascript, CSS, SASS, HAML)
Know what to do when optimization and tuning are needed
Have some experience with Linux systems administration (CentOS, Ubuntu)
